Plastic Piping Systems

Hauser Laboratories offers the following tests and evaluations:

Burst Testing - on standard dimension plastic pipe in accordance with ASTM D1599.

Sustained Pressure and Static Hydrostatic Design Basis (HDB) Tests - on standard plastic pipe in accordance with ASTM D1598.

Cyclic Proof and HDB Tests - on plastic and composite pipe and joint-restraint systems and components at room temperature or elevated temperature using ASTM, UL, or other protocols.

Environmental Stress Crack Resistance (ESCR) - on pressurized tubing in accordance with ASTM F876/F877.

Hoop Tensile - on both thermoplastic pipe and reinforced thermosetting pipe in accordance with ASTM D2290.

Hoop Tensile Stress Rupture - on specimens of up to 33 in. in diameter and with sustained loads of up to 35,000 lbf.

Pipe Stiffness - of virtually all sizes and types of pipe in accordance with ASTM D2412.

Chemical Resistance - of chemical resistance procedures, including ASTM D3681 for fiberglass sewer pipe, ESCR tests, Green Book coupon tests, and simulated service tests.

Impact - We perform room-temperature and low-temperature tup impact tests on most types and sizes of plastic and composite pipe in accordance with ASTM D2444.

Cell Class - Hauser Laboratories has complete facilities for conducting standard plastics and resins tests, including those used for establishing cell class. Such tests include, in part, compression molding, specimen preparation, tensile, flex, izod impact, heat distortion, density, hardness, chemical resistance, flammability, and weathering.

Composition and Chemistry - We identify and quantify fillers, additives, unreacted components, and contaminants using a variety of analytical techniques.

Other Tests - We also perform positive and negative pressure leak tests, joint integrity tests, deflected joint tests, and other standard and custom pipe pressure tests.
